Between Moments
I paint moments that could have easily passed unnoticed — a doorway glowing from within, people gathered by water, flowers spilling into the street, the pause before movement. For me, painting is a way of asking time to slow down long enough to see what was almost lost.
Nothing resolves into a single narrative. Instead, attention shifts between figures, light, and surroundings, allowing each moment to remain open, immediate, and alive.
Surface and Light
This group of paintings shifts attention from human presence to perception—how light moves across surfaces such as water, foliage, and reflected space.
Working from observation, I focus on how forms dissolve and re-emerge through color, and how reflections alter what is seen. Surfaces become unstable, holding light while simultaneously breaking it apart.
As in my figurative work, these paintings are less about fixed subjects than about transitional states—where what appears still is quietly in flux.
They invite a slower kind of looking, where perception unfolds over time rather than arriving all at once.
Echoes of Paris: A Painter’s Walk Through Time
This collection is inspired by quiet wanderings through some of my favorite corners of Paris—the timeless rows of bouquinistes along the Seine, beauty of the the Luxembourg Gardens, tiny flower shops and cafes on the winding streets of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, a ballet rehearsal sneak peak at the Opera Garnier.
Reflections of Japan: Memories in Color
This collection is inspired by my travels through Japan, where I was deeply moved by the quiet beauty of koi fish ponds and serene garden landscapes. Each painting captures a personal moment—soft reflections on water, the graceful movement of koi, the delicate bloom of wisteria, and the timeless elegance of arched bridges.
These works are painted from memory and emotion, inviting you into the peaceful stillness I felt while exploring these sacred spaces. Reflections of Japan is not only a visual journey but also a tribute to the harmony and wonder found in nature’s quiet corners.
